Entrance tickets

Sponza Palace, one of the most representative public buildings within Dubrovnik’s monumental heritage, dates back to the height of the Republic of Dubrovnik’s prosperity. The city’s thriving mercantile spirit knew how to create a space worthy of its stature, affirming its wealth and culture through the construction of this grand palace and its impressive façade.

Entry to the atrium of Sponza Palace during the summer months is possible with the purchase of a ticket, while access remains free for the rest of the year. Ticket sales not only contribute to the preservation of this historic site and the continuation of cultural programs but also ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors. During the summer, the atrium—renowned for its impressive architecture and tranquil ambiance, removed from the city’s bustle—hosts a variety of exhibitions that change regularly.

Tickets also help maintain a balanced number of visitors and ensure a suitable atmosphere, as the reading room of the Dubrovnik State Archives is located on the upper floor of the palace. During the summer months, when the number of researchers is at its peak, it is essential to preserve a quiet and dignified environment for their work with valuable archival materials.
